The nose on this 12th edition of the Parker’s Heritage Collection is nice and sweet, and accompanied by orange peel. There is not much oak but there is a slight floral smell. The palate is largely orange curaçao with muted bourbon flavors (vanilla, oak, caramel) popping. (more…)

Little Book Chapter 2 has a very nice caramel nose to it, along with soft baking spices and dried stone fruit. The palate has plenty of oak to it with spice pushing through, heavy on the cinnamon. (more…)

Jefferson’s Reserve Twin Oak uses barrels with deep grooves that increase the surface area with which the bourbon interacts.  This gives it a very prominent wood flavor throughout the entire drink. (more…)

Henry McKenna Kentucky Straight Bourbon is an excellent option for a well bourbon. This bottle has a great spicy smell with some slight stone fruit notes mixed in.  It has a solid flavor profile that is expected from any sour mash. (more…)

Elmer T Lee is one of my personal favorites from Buffalo Trace! The nose has notes of vanilla and leather, followed by distinct stone fruit accompanied by vanilla and light fall spices. The finish is long and warm. (more…)

The nose on the Booker’s 30th Anniversary Bourbon is heavy on the oak, but balanced by dark fruit and caramel notes, which is followed by baking spices and leather. The palate has a strong oak to it as well as a nice cinnamon accompanied by a good amount of heat. The finish has a long oak to it which then turns into a wonderful spiced fruit. (more…)
