A bourbon review by Kyle O'Connor
This is the 17th voyage for Jefferson’s Ocean Aged at Sea bourbon. Each voyage takes barrels of their mid-tier bourbon and loads them onto a ship that travels the world.
This is one of my favorite bottles, because if someone is into scotch but wants to get into bourbon and vice versa, this is their gateway bottle. You get plenty of woody notes from this one, combined with flavors you’d expect in a Speyside scotch. You can tell that these barrels have traveled the world and have been around salty sea air.
Overall, Jefferson’s Ocean has a great flavor profile that varies with prominent notes depending on the “voyage.”
